First 2012 Charity Concert of 2012
Sunday 29th April 2012 at the Wendouree Performing Arts Centre, Ballarat
The Australian Doctors Orchestra (ADO) is a unique national membership of medical professionals who are also classically trained musicians.
Since its first concert in 1993, the orchestra has played a concert every year in every state and used each occasion to raise funds for charity.
This year, for the first time, they will be performing two concerts.
The orchestra will be playing for the first time in Ballart, where 160 medical professionals from all around Australia will share two days of final rehearsals
that will culminate in a performance on the Sunday afternoon.
This year’s Australian Doctor’s Orchestra Concert will feature
Robert Hughes: Linn O'Dee,
Mozart: Sinfonia Concertante with soloists Douglas Coghill (Viola) and Kate Sullivan (Violin)
Grieg: Norwegian Dances Op. 35, and
Walton: Suite from Henry V.
performed under the baton of acclaimed conductor Dr Joanna Drimatis.
